Overview

Created as part of Yvadney's NG Creative Artist Residency & Galerie Heimat Art Prize, The Land Holds Secrets layers Black figures, found objects from local brocantes and vintage wallpaper to explore heritage, displacement and belonging. Figures, posed with grace and emotional tension, emerge from richly patterned dreamscapes that recall Caribbean landscapes and domestic homes, connecting the past with the present and exploring the untold stories the land quietly holds.

It was exhibited in the artist’s first international solo show at Galerie Heimat, a contemporary art gallery in St Remy de Provence and as part of ‘The Space In Between’ group exhibition in Eglise St Luke, Eygalieres, France in June 2025.
